Alejandra Padilla joined Taller de Jose’s team in August 2021 as a social work intern. She graduated from Northeastern Illinois School of Social Work with a BSW in May 2022 and was hired to be a full-time Staff Compañera. When she was a child, Alejandra acted as a compañera for her parents as she helped them work through the language barrier as Spanish speakers in the United States. She now provides similar support and solidarity to clients in the Little Village and the greater Chicago community.
