Letter from Current Executive Director, Anna Mayer Diaz:
I am writing to share some important updates. After much thoughtful consideration and discernment, I will be moving on from my position as Executive Director at Taller de José at the end of October of this year. After serving 7 years as Executive Director and 12 years total at the organization, I know this will be a big change, but I feel confident that this is the right moment for this change and an opportunity for new possibilities for TDJ.
The Board of Directors and I have engaged in intentional planning about this transition, and our goal is to bring on a new Executive Director this fall. Though there never seems to be quite the perfect time for significant changes, I’m confident that Taller de José is positioned well for this change thanks to the dedication and support of our team, community partners, generous donors and supporters at large. We have strong leadership in our Board of Directors and Associate Board as well as in our Program Director, Brenda Rodriguez. We have expanded our team and partnered with the Quinn Center to increase our services to the western suburbs. I have full confidence that the mission of accompaniment will continue to flourish in the years ahead.
As you know, I am passionate about this mission and that won’t change. I am deeply grateful to our partners, donors, boards, and staff who have supported both me personally and TDJ as an organization. While it will be from a different vantage point, I look forward to seeing and supporting the next steps in Taller de José’s growth. I will continue to support TDJ, and I hope to stay connected with the TDJ community of partners, donors, volunteers, and staff.
If you have any questions, please feel welcome to contact me at amayerdiaz@tallerdejose.org or the Board Chair, Anna Sandoval, at boardofdirectors@tallerdejose.org .
In gratitude,
Anna Mayer Diaz
