As someone who is a first generation Mexican-American I can say that I have seen first-hand the sacrifices that loved ones make when they want to give their family a better life. As child I remember how my grandparents struggled due to language barriers and little education so I became their little translator as well as their little companion. I would go everywhere with them just so they didn’t feel alone. Now in the present, I feel a great responsibility to help others with the same struggles that my grandparents once faced. I am grateful to be the helping hand, and to make sure that people do not feel alone. Yo no camino en frente de ti ni atras de ti .. yo camino a tu lado.
