The Taller de José Associate Board is a group of passionate young professionals who are enthusiastic about supporting the mission of accompaniment. Pints For A Purpose is one way they serve as ambassadors, communicating the work and mission of Taller de José. By attending and/or sponsoring Pints For A Purpose, you will directly impact the clients of Taller de José.
How your support is a large part of our success at Taller de José.
Pints For A Purpose directly supports the accompaniment mission of Taller de José. By attending this fundraiser event, you’re helping ensure that we can provide these services to the community. Taller de José and volunteers annually serve about 1500 clients and their families. Our accompaniment and dignifying case management and offsite accompaniment connect Spanish-speaking immigrant communities in Chicago with the resources needed to access critical services for free!

Our society is built upon complex systems—legal, financial, health, social services—and it’s often challenging to navigate them.
How frustrating is it to get to the DMV, arms full of paperwork, only to be told you’re missing an essential piece?
Or go around and around for days or weeks with your health insurance, only to find out that your treatment won’t be covered the way you thought it would?
For many people, navigating these systems isn’t just frustrating—it’s nearly impossible to achieve alone.
That’s why we do what we do at Taller de José.
We provide personal attention, support, and companionship to members of Spanish-speaking immigrant communities in Chicago who struggle to navigate:
- Immigration systems
- Counseling support
- Financial services
- Legal services
- Domestic violence assistance
And other complicated, convoluted systems they might encounter.
Our staff, our Compañerxes, are trained to truly hear the needs of our clients—and then accompany them through the process of finding and accessing the resources they need.
As such, our Compañerxes are the bridge that connects community members to the health, legal, and social services that empower them to reach their goals.
